As an expat living in China, I found this app extremely useful. You can know meaning of Chinese words just by pointing your phone on it. Didnt try Japanese or Korean function yet, but if it works same good, this app is must-have if you travel in Asia.

This is super useful when I have to travel to China for work.

Translator did not work on handwritten Chinese characters

Just like many other translator apps that try to translate every language they lack specific features to specific languages. For example, instead of just translating The word to English why not show the phonetic way to actually pronounce that word that Im translating? So I can learn at the same time.

dont expect translations to English

The new update is fantastic when it comes to recognizing characters. The actual translations leave something to be desired, but using it for Pinyin is great.

Googled chinese text to try if this works but it failed.

Im in China and this totally improved my choices while ordering Chinese food.

Must have for China. Knowing what I can order has greatly improved my experience in China. Gives me the confidence to order many more dishes and ends up being a good conversation piece. Thanks!
