Useful

Not perfect but very useful when you need a rough translation on the go. Works well with menus.

Simple and useful!

I like this app. Hope that there will be function of reversal translate!

Yes! Must have!

Love this app for everyday travel use. Must have app.

Life saver!

I just started using this today and its already been the best thing ever! Im able to read menus and order food I actually WANT. Thank you!

This app is AWESOME!

I have been working in China for three weeks now. I heard about this app from a coworker. It has helped me out sight seeing and ordering meals. As someone who knows nothing about Mandarin it has helped tremendously. A bit more expensive than most apps available, but well worth the cost.

Steady hand and ideal conditions need to making work

Im on holidays in japan for 2 weeks so I figured could be really helpful. After checking some online short reviews I decided ti get the paid version. Seeing the app work in real life Id say it was wasted money. The recognition only works if you really have some steady hands as well computer text. Anything but text in the OCR window confuses the system. I would not recommend it. The positive about the app is that it can work offline.

Extremely frustrating and upset I wasted money on this

Its a super frustrating app to use. I got this while I was in japan hoping it would help me read kanji. However, this app requires so much patience and time its not effective as an app. You need to absolutely not shake ur phone when using it but thats impossible since its a hand held device and its bound to shake a bit. It doesnt read it right away even if you try your best to stand still and make sure you have a lot of light and when it does it only reads it partially. Then, the photo feature doesnt work itll say it cant read it even though its a crisp photo. Definitely NOT worth the price at all. Dont waste your money on this!

Good but has flaws still

Id say its a good app, but it does have its flaws like others have mentioned. You have to have a steady hand. And currently it can only identify the simple text fonts for translations. It still has a long ways to go. But hopefully once this app is done itll be good. But till then only 3*.

Mouth

mouth mouth mouth

With a little practice, its a worthy translation assistant.

Considering the complexity of deciphering Chinese characters in various conditions, Ive found this app to be useful. Learning to adjust it much like a magnifying glass took a little practice but its provided translation of key words on grocery products, household appliance controls, street signs, and mandarin text books. I think its a worthy translation tool to have amongst a few others I use to navigate living in China.

Worthless

Very poor performance. The app has a hard time locking onto text and provides nonsensical translations. Would not recommend.

Upgrade does not work

I thought this had potential, but upgrade does not work. Paid for 1.99 upgrade and was still left with a promotional version. Purchase at your own risk!

Not very helpful

I bought this app for a trip to China and Japan. I wanted to read signs, menus and other documents. Instead it became a family joke to use the app and see what nonsense words appeared. Perhaps my unsteady hand was the culprit but I found the app to be almost useless.

Wish it worked

I would not want to rely on this app while traveling.

Not as good as google translate

Easy to use, but not always accurate.
